These days it’s easier than ever to find answers to common technical issues on the internet. Chat GPT is now even able to write entire code snippets based on some simple instructions.
Assistance is great, so long as it gets us there all the way, or as long as we are able to go the last mile ourselves. In the case of software neither of the two mentioned methods go all the way – at the end there will be problems for which there is no solution on the internet and issues with code that ChatGPT produces.
This is why it’s still crucial to understand at a deeper level: so that we can solve the challenges that the assistance can’t help us with. Maybe this will change at some point in the future, but we’re not there yet…
